While on patrol we located a small child outside playing in his diaper, mom was located close by but didn’t know he had wandered so far. 
Checked the area for a possible suspect for the vehicle criminal mischief on Ledgewood, not located. We did locate a person that provided some information about the crime

If an appliance smokes or has an unusual smell, unplug it immediately and have it repaired. Replace frayed or cracked electrical cords and don't overload extension cords. They should not be run under rugs. Never tamper with the fuse box or use the improper size fuse.

1020 - responded to area of Island Ave. and City Point Road for an audible smoke alarm.  House boarded up, no smoke seen.  Seems to be a low battery.

1700 - patrolled island and met 1750 ferry.
1930 - met ferry.
2000 - all power went off on island.  Sure it was related to the South Portland crash on Highland Ave.

2150 - power restored on island.

0730 Lt Bragdon and I located a sewerage leak in the basement of the fire station, called trades and asked local plumber Paul Erico to respond and repair. We both assisted in the repairs of the broken pipe by relocating fire equipment.
Extremely cold temperatures kept local traffic light.
Checked the wellbeing of several people walking around the island apparently unaffected by the cold temperatures. 
Assisted several people with contacting their heating company to assist them with furnace issues.
Met the Ferry throughout the day as time permitted.

0730 Lt Bragdon and I assisted LPA personnel loading 12 vehicles to be removed from the island.
Update voluntarily donated vehicle:
This program removed 12 vehicles from the island while raising $675.00 for the PICW and $100.00 each for the American Legion, the Fifth Maine and the Baptist Church!

I would like to thank John, Chris and Marcus Kamp of the Island AAA service and Kamp Masonry Landscaping. In addition Lionel Plante and associates for the barge service and expert loading skills, Billy and Dustin our Police fleet services crew for the unloading and Sgt. Rand for his support during this process.

I am now making a list for another round of vehicles to be removed. Please let me know if you want to be added to that list.
