  1. 0700 Reported for duty with Fire Fighter Bragdon
  2. 0700 House chores and equipment check
  3. 0800 Met Ferry
  4. 0930 Met Ferry
  5. 0950 to Adam St for a wellbeing check.
  6. 1230 Met Ferry
  7. 1315 SA to Welch St no parking area all day. No violations noted
  8. 1345 Medical call cut finger.
  9. 1530 Met Ferry and patrolled the island
  10. 1600 patrolled the island
  11. 1625 Located a “frozen meat sales team” soliciting sales on Tolman Rd. Asked to leave the island and will follow up with the city code office
  12. 1700 Met Ferry and escorted Meat sales team off island
  13. 1920 Nonstop barking complaint on Spruce St. owner warned.
  14. 2135 Met Ferry
  15. 2345 Met Ferry
  16. 1300 Fire call to Torrington Rd for unattended fire

Police Tip

Lately the island has seen an increase in door to door sales of pre-packaged frozen meat. This one company is claiming to sell Omaha Steaks, this is not the case. I cannot say where they come from but I do know they are not from Omaha Steaks. These "Sales People" rely on high pressure encounters and often use some level of intimidation. The common theme is " I just sold all but one package to your neighbor and I can let it go for xxx amount,...no I can't break up the package ...ok I will break it up for you for xxx but don't tell anyone else.."
They are licensed to sell in the State of Maine however they do not have a permit to sell in the City of Portland. Having said that even if they did have the permit for The City of Portland it excludes the islands. I have escorted them off the island twice now and was very clear that they are not allowed back. Please call us if you see them on the island or are approached by another company.
Remember if it's too good to be true it usually is.
