For those residents who have a hydrant near their home-we appreciate the hydrants being shoveled out after a snow storm. After the last couple of storms we have found several hydrants that are being buried by plowing, snowblowing or shoveling around them. In the event of an emergency you will want to be able to access those hydrants without the delay of having to dig them out or chip them free from ice.

Health Tip of the Week
Consider Vitamin D

It's especially important if you're older than 60 - when the body has a hard time converting enough vitamin D from sunlight.  Studies show that vitamin D not only strengthens bones but also boosts immunity and protects against several diseases.  In an analysis published in September 2007, older adults who took a vitamin D supplement (400 to 800 international units daily) had lower death rates from all causes.
