0700 Reported for duty with FF Lt Bragdon
0730 Lt Bragdon and I located a sewerage leak in the basement of the fire station, called trades and asked local plumber Paul Erico to respond and repair. We both assisted in the repairs of the broken pipe by relocating fire equipment.
Extremely cold temperatures kept local traffic light.
Checked the wellbeing of several people walking around the island apparently unaffected by the cold temperatures.
Assisted several people with contacting their heating company to assist them with furnace issues.
Met the Ferry throughout the day as time permitted.

Safety Tip

Please keep an eye on your neighbor’s wellbeing during these extremely cold days.

The IRS will never call you and ask for a payment over the phone.  If anyone calls and says they are from the IRS, HANG UP immediately.  It is a scam.  If the IRS has information for you, it will be delivered via mail.
