Police tip.  

 

Please remember to change out the batteries in your smoke and Carbon monoxide detectors. AND when YOU push the TEST button on some newer versions it will tell you “FIRE FIRE” or “CARBON MONOXIDE  CARBON MONOXIDE ” this is not you queue to call 911, the detector is only running through its self-test that you initiated.

 

Rule of thumb. Change your clocks change your batteries!

0700 - arrived on island.
0720 - patrolled island and met 0800 ferry.
0945 - medcu 12 run to 15 new Island Ave.  Medcu cleared at scene.
1030 - parking summons issued in Welch St. lot.
1230 - met ferry.
1410 - met with resident at 16 Wiley to issue two summonses for a dangerous dog and a dog at large.  Report taken.
1530 - met ferry.
1645 - met ferry.
1750 - met ferry and patrolled island.
1930 - met ferry and checked DPW property.
2030 - met ferry.
2130 - met ferry and checked Lion's club property.

*** If you park in a handicap space, you must display your handicap parking placard.

2245 - arrived on island.
2250 - patrolled back shore, all quiet.
0135 - 911 hang-up at 6 Tolman Rd.  Both parties stated that they didn't call.
0300 - Another 911 hang-up at 6 Tolman Rd.  One party transported to fire boat landing for transport to Maine Med for a medical.  Report taken.
 
 
When parking your vehicles... please do not leave the keys in the ignition.

1150- complaint re: inappropriate dumping by #106 New Island Ave-responded to #106 and found no one at home.
1230- met ferry
1250- #106 New Island Ave-spoke w/homeowner re: leaves-she will be sure to remove any debris and make sure it doesn't land in neighbor's yard
1300- patrolled Island
1430- met ferry-patrolled Island
1530- met ferry
1645- met ferry
1720- spoke w/Islander who reported that he had happened upon two women and their teenaged daughters driving erratically in a golf cart-he states he stopped and spoke with them about their inattention to the road-no information on the cart or the cart operator.
1750- met ferry-patrolled Island
1900- 171 Brackett Ave-small bonfire in homemade rock ring-homeowner very readily put fire out when notified of statewide ban on open burning due to fire danger.
1930- met ferry-patrolled Island
2030- met ferry
2130- met ferry-patrolled Island


While it isn't officially Summer yet, the Ferries have been very full. Several times today the ferry was at capacity and had to turn people away. Please plan accordingly and don't be left on the dock.

  2. 0730 House chores and equipment check
  3. 0815 Met ferry  
  4. 0930 Met ferry
  5. 1100-1300 Ran a radar traffic detail on Island Ave, Pleasant Ave and Central Ave. No violations with very light traffic.
  6. 1300 Checked summer homes for open doors and other sign of burglary/criminal trespass.
  7. 1500 Met Ferry
  8. 1630 Received a call for an intoxicated/drugged male on skateboard staggering in the street.  Located a male subject who fit that description to a tee. After a field interview he decided that he would leave the island and catch up with his missing friends later. 
  9. 1900 Received another call for the three “missing” friends on the beach by LPA, they too matched the descr4iption of the earlier subject. They too came to the decision that it was time to leave the island.
  10. Met the remaining ferries
