08/18/16   Ofc. Rose

Date _08/18/2016 Shift _1 __ Officer _ ROSE _______

Daily Tasks/Public Relations/Maintenance/Miscellaneous

0700 Reported for duty with and FF Lt. Bragdon

Monitored traffic on Island Ave, normal traffic with a few issues addressed reported around the

new crosswalk sign.

Monitored traffic at the ferry line, high car volume

Report of a golf cart vs bike accident gone on arrival no report

Report of a child driving a golf cart, subjects located and the rental was terminated

Medical call to the ferry landing, no transport

Assisted city hall staff with transportation

Met the Ferry throughout the day as time permitted.

Gave SA to Central Ave

Information

I removed the New Island Ave pedestrian crosswalk sign in front of Hannigan 's Market. I will ask the City Traffic Division to evaluate that placement of that sign and the safety issues with it.

The fire engines and ambulance cannot make it through that area safely if any vehicles are parked on
the street near it. One vehicle has be hit and several vehicle vs pedestrian near misses have been
reported. It seems drivers are more worried about hitting a vehicle or sign than watching the crosswalk for people.

Please message me if you feel the need.

Please do not call the police department to report it stolen.

A bicycle lock through your golf carts steering wheel will do wonders for keeping it where you parked it..
Remember all club cars use the same key.. many Yamaha carts do as well.
