In addition to putting out numbers on your house that are visible from the road please remember to trim back trees and bushes near your home. They obscure visibility and make it easier for someone to break into your home and they also pose a fire hazard. There will be a brush pickup in August if you don't want to have to haul them off.

If you are taking medications please keep an updated list of your medication and dosage amount with you. In the event of an emergency you may not be able to remember all of your meds and the dosage amount. If you have a loved one with memory impairment a medic alert bracelet with the appropriate info will be a huge help should you get separated from one another.

Do NOT park your car in the Traffic circle on Welch St and leave it unattended. When picking up/dropping off passengers you need to pull all the way into the traffic circle for your pick up/drop off and then exit the circle making room for all the other Islanders who are doing the same. Do NOT stop at the entrance of the parking lot/traffic circle and do a "quick" drop off. There are always cars waiting to get into the lot and park so that people can catch the ferry-be considerate and save yourself a parking ticket by following the rules.
