0700-1530 hours: Officer Lauterbach on duty
1530 hours: assisted with medical call, party transported on fireboat
1725 hours: Individual burning without permit on back shore.  Due to strong winds, individual was asked to put fire out. 
1740 hours: Dog located on Centennial beach.  Dog was reunited with owner a few hours later.
1750 hours: complaint of bikes left on bike rack past 72 hours.
2230 hours: Assisted with medical call.  Individual transported. 
0920 hours: Conducted traffic detail on Island Ave.  Two summonses and one verbal warning for stop sign violation
1930 hours: Fire complaint on beach off of 100 block of Seashore Ave.  Individuals had small cooking fires and had all permits. 
2000 hours: Dog complaint on Luther Ave. 
Patrolled and met Ferry as calls permitted.   

Remember that bikes should not be left at the Welch Street lot for longer than 72 hours.

08/12/2015  Robert Lauterbach  Day shift

0700 - arrived on island.
0710 - assisted a guest from the Inn at Peaks who went for a walk and was then locked out.  Her room key doesn't open the front door and no staff was around.  FD used the Knox box key.
0800 - met ferry.
0930 - met ferry.
1040 - medcu 12 run to 15 New Island Ave.  Patient treated at scene and released.
1130 - met ferry.
1215 - patrolled island and met 1230 ferry.
1430 - met ferry and patrolled island.
1525 - medcu 12 run to 15 Sunset Lane.  Patient transported to fireboat with out issue. 
1645 - met ferry with ofc. Connolly.  Relieved of duty.

1100 hours: conducted traffic detail on Island Ave. at Church St.  Purpose of detail was to monitor intersection/stop sign.  One traffic summons issued.
1130 hours: met ferry
1145 hours: patrolled island
1205 hours: party came to station to report lost bike. (bike found few hours later)
1430 hours: met ferry
1530 hours: met ferry
1535 hours: Driver’s License turned in.  Owner found.
1640 hours: Upper Veteran’s St report of a found dog.  Owner claimed her a short time later at the station.  Child did not close door completely.
1930 hours: met ferry
2000 hours: patrolled island
2030 hours: met ferry
2045 hours: patrolled island
2130 hours: met ferry
2150 hours: patrolled island
0010 hours: medical call Jewell Rd.

 
-When operating golf carts, please obey all traffic laws.  This includes, but is not limited to, stopping at stop signs and operating with lights in the hours of darkness.

0700 - arrived on island.
0800 - met ferry and patrolled island.
0930 - met ferry.
1030 - met ferry and patrolled island.
1130 - met ferry.  Crowd started for reggae fest.
1230 - met ferry and patrolled island.
1430 - spoke with a couple about a landlord tenant situation that occurred on a Seashore Ave home.
1530 - met ferry.  Reggae fest busy.  Assisted security with an unwanted guest.  He was removed and did not return.
1645 -met ferry.  Ferry had to leave approx. 100 people.
1750 - met ferry and patrolled island.
1930 - met ferry and patrolled island.
2030 - met ferry.
2130 - met ferry and gave checked school property.
2230 - patrolled island.  Quiet all around.

***make sure you check the batteries in your smoke/carbon dioxide alarms.

0700 Reported for duty with overtime Officer Taylor and Lt. FF Bragdon
0730 House chores and vehicle inspections
0730 Monitered traffic and parking issues all day. Minor issues resolved.
1230 Domestic call to Welch St.
1330 Domestic follow-up
1400 checked Brackett Ave path for two bikes. Unfounded.
1800 Assisted with a home lock-out on Tolman Heights
1930 Checked several locations for fire permits and safety concerns
1945 Medical call to New Island Ave Biker fell off of bike
2030 Large beach fire on seashore shut down for safety reasons.
2230 Return to the large beach fire that reignited.
2310 Located a unattended fire by CMP located several volunteers to assist putting it out.
2330 Noise complaint from the landing, unfounded
2350 Last boat filled with the last of the wedding parties
Patrolled and met Ferry as calls permitted

 

Safety Tip

Please place visible numbers on your home or mailbox. Reflective numbers would be better for first responders. Esthetics is not worth the risk in case of an emergency. Everyone must remember that hospital medical treatment is at the very best 45 minutes away, adding another 5 minutes to that could be the difference between life and death.

0700 - arrived on island.
0720 - patrolled island and met 0800 ferry.
0930 - met ferry.
1030 - met ferry.
1100 - patrolled island and gave special attention to 40 Welch St.(location has been a parking complaint in the past).
1130 - met ferry.
1230 - checked for vehicles parked for over 72 Hrs. on Island Ave.
1350 - responded to the area of 320 Seashore Ave. for a report of a log on fire.  We were able to put it out with out any issues.
1430 - met ferry and picked up back up officer.
1500 - patrolled island and met 1530 ferry.
1645 - met ferry.
1750 - met ferry.
1830 - checked area by 139 Central Ave. for down wires.  Dispatch contacted and informed that it's the phone/cable wire.  Proper companies notified.
1930 - assisted FD with the down wires from 139 Central Ave.  Caution tape around the area.
2030 - met ferry and patrolled island.
2125 - responded down front for a report of someone lighting off Japanese candles.  Couldn't locate anything.  Met ferry.
2245 - met ferry.
2345 - responded to 2 Island Ave. for carbon monoxide alarm sounding.  FD checked with meter.  All set.

1830 report of phone lines down on central Ave, wires located and secured
2130 Intoxicated male on seashore reported a beach fire was unattended. The beach fire was located and extinguished with a ½ cup of water.  Family of intoxicated male apologized for his behavior.
2250 Noise complaint on Luther St. Located and shut down outside skill saw activity.
